Customer Guidelines
Welcome to Traveling Maids! We’re committed to providing a reliable, high-quality cleaning experience while making life easier for you. To ensure a smooth, respectful, and efficient partnership, please take a moment to review our customer guidelines.
Booking & Payment
- Full payment is required by the end of the day your cleaning is completed.
- We accept all major debit and credit cards. Cash is not accepted. Please do not offer service payment directly to our cleaning professionals. All payments
- Pricing is based on home size, layout, and condition. If your home requires more time or labor than originally quoted, due to undisclosed buildup, damage, or other conditions, additional charges may apply.
- We’ll always do our best to communicate any changes during the service, and we’ll follow up afterward with a service review to ensure you’re satisfied and everything was completed as expected.
Rescheduling & Cancellations
- You may cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before your appointment without penalty.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours will incur a 50% service charge.
- Monday appointments must be changed or canceled by Friday at 4 PM.
Pets
We love animals! But for everyone’s safety:
- Please secure pets in a separate room or area during the cleaning.
- We are not responsible for pet-related messes or damages.
Preparing for Your Clean
To help us do our best work, please:
- Remove clutter, toys, and dishes from surfaces and floors.
- Make sure our team has safe, clear access to your home.
- Leave out any personal cleaning products you’d like us to use, along with instructions.
Home Access
If you won’t be home:
- Provide clear access instructions, door codes, or concierge info.
- We do not hold on to client keys.
- Failure to gain access at the time of your booking may result in a cancellation fee.
On-Site Conditions
- If other contractors (e.g., painters, movers, handymen) are working during your appointment and disrupt our service, we reserve the right to reschedule and charge a 50% cancellation fee.
- Technicians will not move furniture or clean in unsafe conditions
- Traveling Maids technicians are not permitted to clean floors with unfinished or raw surfaces (e.g., unsealed wood or concrete) due to the risk of damage. Clients must notify us in advance if such surfaces are present.
Cleaning Supplies
- We provide cleaning supplies and tools.
- You’re welcome to supply any specialty products you prefer.
- Can you please make a 2-step stool available at your home. Please Note: Do not ask our cleaning professionals to climb on kitchen countertops, bathroom sinks, or any unstable surfaces, even if you’re okay with it. We prioritize safety at all times!
Breakage & Damage Policy
If something is accidentally broken:
- We cover up to $100 per item, with photos submitted within 24 hours of service.
- Please report all issues to hello@travelingmaids.com so we can make it right.
Tips & Gratuity
Tips are never required, but they’re always appreciated.
Any tip you choose to give goes 100% directly to your cleaner, Traveling Maids does not take a percentage.
- Add tips by card after your service or in person (cash only).
- Our cleaners do not accept tips via Cash Apps, Venmo, Zelle or PayPal.
Please Do Not Hire Our Cleaners Directly
We work hard to build and support a trusted network of cleaning professionals. To protect that effort:
Clients agree not to hire any Traveling Maids cleaners directly outside of our platform for 12 months after their last service.
If this policy is breached, a referral fee of up to $10,000 may apply in accordance with our Terms of Service.
Thank you for respecting the work that goes into building a great service community and supporting our team.
Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to cancel or refuse service if:
- A home is deemed unsafe or unsanitary
- We feel our staff may be at risk
- The job exceeds the originally booked scope (e.g., excessive buildup, biohazards, hoarding)
